So – my name’s Flora. I never know what to write in an ‘about’ section (who does, hey?), but here we go…

I’m 26 years old and I live in the United Kingdom. I went to Newcastle University and graduated with a 1st class law degree. Despite the fact I didn’t continue my training to become a fully-fledged lawyer, I love a good argument and the work I put into that chapter of my life is something I’m really proud of.

I worked for an e-Learning company in Nottingham when I came out of university, loved the job (but not the company) and freelanced for a couple of years while dipping my toe into blogging for online retailers. I ended up working full-time for one of Europe’s leading marketing agencies where I spent 2 years writing blog posts, websites, category content, feature articles, product descriptions and other bits and bobs for some great companies. I also learnt a lot about influencer marketing while I was there, which puts a slightly different spin on blogging for fun (something I’ve been doing on and off since 2010). I now work in e-Learning again and blog for a hobby.

I currently live in Rutland – a teeny tiny county in the middle of England – having recently bought my first home. I was full of great ideas for it (still am, in fact) but home improvement is quite expensive. Not to be deterred, I’m doing things slowly and spending hours scrolling through instagram looking for inspiration.

When I’m not working, writing or painting my living room for what feels like the gazillionth time, I like to read and walk. I’m just one mountain away from ticking off a bucket list of walking to the top of the highest peaks in the UK. I like yoga and running and generally moving my body. I like cooking after a long day – perhaps it’s because it’s something to do with my hands rather than my brain? – and I almost always fancy a glass of wine.

Current obsessions include Mad Men (the fashion! the interiors! the makeup!), Frank Ocean (late to the party, I know) and the comment section on Man Repeller. Long-time loves include chocolate of every kind, history documentaries and David Attenborough. And when it comes to music, I like a little bit of everything – I’ve played the piano for more than 20 years, Nirvana are still one of my favourite bands and this album is like a good book if you listen to it in order.
